A new clinical instructor has identified a challenging student in the clinical setting. This faculty development virtual simulation works through the process of identifying at-risk behaviour, developing a learning plan, student evaluations, having difficult conversations and finally, how to fail a student who has not achieved the clinical course outcomes.

This virtual simulation explores how a clinical instructor can identify and support a student who is not meeting course outcomes. It discusses learning outcomes, mid-term and final evaluations, documentation of a failing position, and student versus instructor responsibilities.
