Game synopsis:
The patient, Nicolas Lalonde, is a 55-year-old male with a previous medical history of type 2 diabetes and hypertension. He recently underwent surgery for a perforated appendix. He is now post-op Day 3 admitted on a medical-surgical unit and was initially stable.
He is now lethargic but rousable and oriented x2 (person, place) but confused at times. Lung sounds are diminished at the bases with coarse crackles in the left lower lobe. The abdomen is distended, firm, and very tender with guarding, especially over the incision.
You begin your shift on a medical-surgical unit and receive a hand-off report.
