In alignment with CAN-Sim’s vision of excellence in simulation education and research through networking, the 2025 CAN-Sim Conference theme is “Empowering Nursing Simulation Educators Through Collaboration, Innovation, Scholarship and Mentorship.” The conference program will address learning needs of nursing simulation educators from novice to expert, from academic, hospital and community-based settings, using any clinical simulation modality ranging from low fidelity to high fidelity and including simulated patient simulation, virtual simulation, and virtual/augmented reality simulation.

We invite abstract submissions for oral and poster presentations, workshops and panel presentations under two themes: (1) Research, and (2) Innovation.

  • Research Stream: Abstracts describing qualitative, quantitative or mixed methods research studies, or systematic/scoping reviews. Preference will be given to completed studies; however, works in progress may be submitted if preliminary data is available or expected to be available for presentation at the conference.
  • Innovation Stream: Abstracts that describe the design and/or implementation of innovative simulation-based educational strategies, research methodologies, programs, challenges, solutions, or controversies including topics suitable for interactive workshops or panel presentations.
