A 39 + 5-week newborn male was delivered 24 hours ago with the assistance of forceps due to a prolonged second stage of labour, chorioamnionitis, maternal exhaustion and intermittent fetal decelerations. Required brief PPV after delivery but recovered quickly and was monitored in NICU for 8 hours. Apgars 5 and 8. Transferred to 4WF but has been irritable and feeding poorly and now returned to NICU for further assessment/evaluation. Begins seizing in NICU requiring anti-seizure medications. Becomes unstable, will need to be intubated. The team will prepare RSI medications.
