Challenging Conversations – Vaccine Refusal
This virtual simulation game explores a stressful interaction between a HCP and a parent of a teenage patient who is refusing to immunize her immunosuppressed child. The learner explores effective communication strategies and methods of debriefing following the interaction.
CHARM: Christian’s Story
This virtual simulation involves an ethical situation where a patient is injured due to the inappropriate use of restraints. The assigned nurse refuses to document the incident and demands another nurse who witnessed the injury not to disclose the incident.
CHARM: Clement’s Story
This session uses a virtual simulation experience to build knowledge and skills related to the concept of cultural humility and its application to addressing racial microaggressions in the clinical setting.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Exacerbation
This virtual simulation game focuses on the care of the patient with an acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD)
Coarctation of the Aorta
This is an interprofessional (IPE) virtual simulation game focusing of a 5 day old infant assessment for intermittent episodes of cyanosis.
Collaboration and Teamwork
This virtual simulation explores the various roles of the interprofessional team.
Communicating in High Stress Situations
This virtual simulation involves an interprofessional team where a team member is verbally abused by another team member. The simulation involves conflict resolution within the team.
Communicating with Patient with Different Priorities
This virtual simulation involves a patient who only wants to treat her newly diagnosed hypertension with pharmacological interventions and does not want to engage in lifestyle changes.
Communication in a Community Clinic
This virtual simulation game focuses on an interaction between a community health nurse and a client who is receiving results from STI testing.
Conducting a Pain Assessment
This virtual simulation game focuses on a comprehensive pain assessment followed by the development of a plan of care.
