Marian Luctkar-Flude

RN, PhD, CCSNE,
FCNEI Director and Co-President

Dr. Luctkar-Flude (she/her) is an Associate Professor at Queen’s University School of Nursing with over 20 years experience as a nurse educator and over 15 years as a clinical simulation designer, educator and researcher. As a Co-Founder, Director and Co-President of CAN-Sim she oversees issues related to finance, research and communications.

Jane Tyerman

RN, PhD, CCSNE Director
and Co-President

Dr. Jane Tyerman (she/her) is an Associate Professor at the University of Ottawa School of Nursing with over 20 years experience as a nurse educator and over 15 years as a clinical simulation designer, educator and researcher. As a Co-Founder, Director and Co-President of CAN-Sim she oversees issues related to membership, and education.

Lillian Chumbley

MA,eLearning Specialist Director

Lillian Chumbley (she/her) is an eLearning professional and instructional designer with 20 years in development and management of online learning programs. As a Co-Founder and Director of CAN-Sim she oversees issues related to technology, innovation, AODA and legal.

Our Strategic Priorities

In alignment with our mission and vision, CAN-Sim has identified the following strategic priorities:

  • To support collaboration between nurse educators in simulation design and integration in the context of nursing and interdisciplinary teams.

  • To enhance expertise in evidence-based simulation teaching and learning through professional development and mentorship.

  • To enhance simulation-based learning through the sharing of scenarios and resources between members.

  • To implement strategies that promote the development, application, and dissemination of simulation research.

  • To support a continuum of research activities to assist and sustain research among nursing and related healthcare educators.
